First, a little about me. I am a nurse for 38 years, about to retire. I have lived in Texas, Louisiana, Spain, Japan, Guam, Key West. I am married and have two grown children. My interests include needlework, making jewelry, sewing, scuba diving, traveling, reading and anything to do with my grandchild.
But my primary hobby is Cowboy Action Shooting. I am a member of SASS – Single Action Shooting Society – www.sassnet.com. There are over 80,00 members world-wide.
“The Single Action Shooting Society is an international organization created to preserve and promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting™. SASS endorses regional matches conducted by affiliated clubs, stages END of TRAIL The World Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting, promulgates rules and procedures to ensure safety and consistency in Cowboy Action Shooting matches, and seeks to protect its members’ 2nd Amendment rights. SASS members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting.”
We dress in period-correct clothing from the late 1800′s. We do timed-target shooting using reproduction guns of that period. It’s a lot of fun. We shoot with all ages – from six-year-olds to eighty-year-olds. And some of those eighty-year-olds are pretty quick.
